First Heatwave of 2013 Friday – Monday

Home / Uncategorized / First Heatwave of 2013 Friday – Monday

Well, after a shot at cooler temperatures and actually some rain, the pattern will flop through the week with a strong ridge offshore pulling in much warmer air in from the southeast through the weekend.

Thursday, temperatures will likely remain in the mid to upper 80s… though some low 90s can’t be ruled out in a few hotter valley locations. By Friday, temperatures may jump 10 degrees in some spots, with valley temperatures in the mid to upper 90s, with 100 – 102 degree temps possible locally. Over the weekend, 97 – 104 degree temperatures are possible across the valley… with hotter locations potentially reaching 105 – 107 if hotter model solutions are correct.

Monday, temperatures will fall a bit… with valley temperatures ranging from 96 – 103… and by Tuesday, mid to upper 90s/local 100s, with a slow cooling trend continuing through the week.

A weak cutoff low may form offshore mid to late week… however models aren’t too sure what effects it will have across the region. I’ll certainly keep an eye on it as the time nears.
